About The Role Reports to the Director of Drafting & Technical Support, the Curtain Wall Drafting Manager shall oversee and manage a team of drafters, scheduling projects, and ensuring timely completion of shop drawings. Responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate preparation of drawings to meet project deadlines. Duties are responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain a comprehensive project schedule for shop drawings; Coordinate with Project Managers to understand project requirements and timelines; Prioritize projects based on urgency and complexity to allocate resources effectively Drafter Management and Support: Lead and supervise a team of drafters, providing guidance, support and mentoring; Assist drafters in resolving technical issues and challenges during the drawing process; Ensure that the drafters adhere to company standards and quality guidelines; Shop Drawing Completion: Review and approve shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications; Collaborate with design and engineering teams to resolve any discrepancies or conflicts; Monitor progress to ensure timely completion of shop drawings; Reporting and Communication Request weekly reports from drafters to track project status and identify potential issues. Review reports from Window Wall Team; Drafters to send a list of outstanding items to PM''s no later than 1 week before starting 2nd submission; Communicate effectively with Project Managers to keep them informed about shop drawing progress and outstanding items; Address any delays or bottlenecks proactively to maintain project times; Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Drafting & Technical Support. Requirements & Qualifications Education Bachelor''s Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Project Management, or Civil Engineering Project Management Professional Certification or equivalent work experience. Years of Experience Minimum 5+ years of drafting/breakdown supervisory experience. Manager Level This role is supportive, where the incumbent acts as a liaison between Drafters and PMs. assisting PMs in organizing and coordinating shop drawing aspects of a project from start up to close out; Detail oriented with the ability to read construction drawings (architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and interior design); Possesses a solid understanding of drafting techniques and a familiarity with engineering terminology; Knowledgeable in the window industry and is familiar with curtain wall, window wall, railing and metal cladding products and systems; Strong computer skills and thoroughly familiar with Auto CAD and Revit software and other MS office based programs to provide support to the team Encompasses leadership skills Ability to train and coach drafters Work Location On-Site Occasional site visits require wearing PPE and in certain other locations, may involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions; Flexible working overtime as required Why State?
