Prepare, or assist Project Managers with, the development of all system engineering concepts. Perform, or arrange for, reviews of system installations and interpret/manage the impact on the project. Work with project managers to prepare all calculations (e.g. projection screen sizing, heat and power loads) and select all equipment. Ensure proper coordination of documents with the internal and external project team (architect, interior designer, and other disciplines). Review all deliverables for the project reports, calculations, drawings, or specifications for completeness and accuracy at various stages of development and as defined by internal total quality management. Promote and enforce company standards relating to project administration, documentation and processes such as total quality management. Act as contract administrator for designated projects when requested by the Project Manager, ensuring timely completion of all contract administration activities. Ensure that the shop drawing review process takes place within project timelines. Coordinate with the contract administration team regarding drawing reviews, proper setup of contract administration process and site activities. Prepare all change notices or review change notices issued by the contract administration team. Keep the Project Manager advised of all changes in scope of work and prepare amendments to the contract (e.g. Request for Additional Fee RAF) for review and submission to the client. Conduct system deficiency review visits at the completion of installation to verify design and enforce company standards. Produce reports and deficiency checklists. Ensure that the internal project team discipline coordination processes are complete. Prepare and continually monitor a schedule of tasks required to complete the project, including hours to perform tasks and critical data required for performance. Liaise with external consultants and vendors as required to ensure smooth project delivery. Who You Are Possess up to two years in telecommunications or security design; relevant experience in security or telecommunications design is preferred. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) designation and manufacturer training are assets. RCDD, CTSD, MCSE, and other certifications are assets. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD/Revit, and MS Project are assets. Understand relevant codes and standards and communicate all requirements to the internal project team, external project team, owner, and authorities having jurisdiction. Understand construction procurement methodologies and recommend or apply such methods for the project. Demonstrate the ability to work independently. Demonstrate the ability to work in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients. Possess sound communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations. Demonstrate experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordinating major projects. Be knowledgeable about the BISCI, EIA/TIA and CSA standards. Display a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize tasks. Have excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
