Reports To: Paramedic Superintendent Location: Initial Placement Paramedic Stations throughout the County of Brant and Brantford Regular Orientation Stream and Fast Track Orientation Streams Available Minimum Qualifications: Community College diploma in Emergency Health Care/Paramedicine (EMCA) Completed Base Hospital Certification Schedule 1 Certified Primary Care Paramedic (Level 1) or Advanced Care Paramedic (Level 2) MOHLTC Mandatory Core Training Must maintain certification in accordance with the Ambulance Act and Regulations and provide proof of the minimum documents required Must be in good standing with base hospital Valid CPR certificate equivalent to HSFO standards Valid Restricted Radio Operators license Excellent communication (oral and written), facilitation and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain professionalism while under pressure, demonstrated tact and diplomacy Demonstrated safe work practices Valid F drivers license and acceptable drivers abstract Proof of mandatory immunization as specified by the Ontario Ambulance Act Clean criminal records check including Vulnerable Sector Screening search Must provide current certification or obtain certification of Physical Agility Evaluation Able to work shifts with varying start and end times, and provide availability in accordance with collective agreement (18 shifts per month including afternoon and weekend requirement) Assets: Knowledge of the area of Brant County and Brantford Duties: Follow the Primary/Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards Provide emergency medical care for ill or injured persons by providing leadership at the emergency site by focusing on cardiovascular and respiratory systems and providing basic pre-hospital life support. Provide transportation for ill or injured persons to, from, and between treatment facilities as directed by the Central Ambulance Communications Centre (CACC) Provide effective patient assessment and treatment Responsible for all medical interventions and certified by Base Hospital and the County of Brant, including controlled drug therapy (under Symptom Relief Program), manual defibrillation and cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation according to provincial and local standards and protocols Advise CACC of status and location at all times Interact with, collaborate and cooperate with members of the health care team, other emergency care providers, the public and patients in a professional manner Complete reports (i.e. Ambulance Call Reports, Incident/Occurrence Reports, Shift Activity Reports, etc.) as required Ensure ambulance is properly cleaned and stocked of equipment, supplies and medication Ensure base is kept in a clean and orderly state Participate in mandatory training and continuing medical education as required Other duties as assigned Hourly Rate Range: Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) - $42.43 - $45.36 (per Collective Agreement) Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) - $47.76 - $50.83 (per Collective Agreement) The application deadline is 9:00 a.m. on Monday February 9, 2026 Date of Posting: Friday January 23, 2026 The County of Brant is committed to accessible recruitment practices.
