Assistant/Apprentice/Associate Golf Professional: The Ponoka Golf Club The Ponoka Golf Club is located in the heart of Alberta, nestled in the historic and picturesque Battle River Valley on the southeast side of the town of Ponoka. Our 18-hole Championship Course offers an exceptional golf experience and a welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff alike. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant/Associate/Apprentice Golf Professional to join our professional team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering outstanding service, supporting daily golf operations, and helping elevate the overall golfer experience at Ponoka Golf Club. Location Ponoka Golf Club Posted 2025-11-19 Deadline 2026-01-31 Job Summary The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the golf shop, guest services, teaching programs, and tournament activity. This role requires leadership by example, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in customer service, staff engagement, sales, and overall operational performance. Responsibilities Customer Service & Operations Provide exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service Assist with all daily golf shop operations, including opening/closing procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient retail and service environment Support back-shop operations, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff Instruction & Player Development Teach private lessons and group clinics for golfers of all skill levels Collaborate with the professional team to develop and deliver junior programs and camps Represent the club at PGA of Canadasanctioned tournaments and events Programming & Events Assist with the organization and execution of all leagues, including Mens, Ladies, Seniors, and Juniors Support tournament preparation, scoring, pace-of-play monitoring, and player communication Merchandising & Administration Support pro shop merchandising, inventory management, and display presentation Utilize computer software tools (Word, Excel, POS systems) for administrative tasks Assist with social media promotion and communication initiatives Work collaboratively with all department leaders to ensure member and guest needs are consistently met Qualifications PGA of Canada member in good standing (or apprentice working toward membership) Energetic, positive, and team-oriented personality Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Club fitting experience considered an asset Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, POS systems, schedule management platforms) Compensation $3,500 per month 100% of lesson revenue Benefits/Perks Equipment program Tournament / interclub allowance CPGA dues covered Food and beverage discounts Opportunity for professional development within a supportive team environment PGA of Canada Specialization Teaching PGA of Canada Specialization Golf Operations Course Website Employment Duration Full-time, Seasonal (6 - 8 Months) Contact Information Please forward your cover letter and rsum in confidence to: Ryan Moore Head Professional #J-18808-Ljbffr
