Job Description

Security Technician - Parachute Team 14/14 Join Convergint as an experienced Security Systems Technician in Canada. This is a mobile role requiring regular travel outside of the local CTC (Convergint Technology Centre) area. Shift schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off, with accommodation provided during your shift. Responsibilities Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a substantial variety of security systems and equipment. Acts as the key interface for the provision of technical support and training for the customer, accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Reads complex blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation requirements; interprets wiring diagrams and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and advanced test instruments. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and debugs a substantial variety of systems for complex problems, using advanced troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix issues in malfunctioning equipment or software. Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commissions new systems, analyzes performance and identifies malfunctions. Writes non-routine programs of substantial variety and complexity for systems. May provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, audits, consultation, and database management. May install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects. Consults with engineering team to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work. Acts as Convergints best service provider at all times, ensuring safety, quality, and performance on onsite projects. Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required. Qualifications Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; anticipates and meets customer needs proactively. Advanced technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems. Selfstarter who works well with minimal supervision. Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., proficiency with hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper). Valid drivers license required. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Advanced organizational skills. Highly proficient computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Minimum of five years of previous, security systems field service experience. Ability to obtain a security clearance is an asset. This is a mobile position; significant travel is required. Diploma in electronics preferred; relevant trade experience preferred. Industryspecific certifications (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, CCure, AMAG, Kantech, Avigilon) are an asset.
