The Regional Business Development Manager is a client-facing leader responsible for driving regional growth and managing a distributed team of Business Development (BD) Representatives across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This role identifies and leverages market opportunities to bolster ALSs business, delivers a strong customer experience through proactive engagement, and aligns commercial activities with operational capabilities. The manager will set regional BD strategy, coach and develop the BD team, ensure consistent execution, and advocate for client needs within ALS. Location: Eastern Canada or Remote Specific Responsibilities Build and execute a regional business development plan aligned to growth targets for Geochemistry in North America. Align with the Market Intelligence Analyst and Client Services team to identify, prioritize, and capitalize on market opportunities. Own the full sales cycle including prospecting, qualification, solution development, proposals/tenders, negotiations and close. Develop multi-level relationships with decision makers and stakeholders including Client Services, Geochemistry Operations, MPTS, etc. Represent ALS Geochemistry at regional trade shows, conferences, and Geological Society meetings in partnership with Client Services and Operations. Lead and coordinate client tours and ALS events at trade shows in partnership with Client Services. Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients, leads, and engaged accounts; ensuring CRM system accuracy. Engage potential new clients to determine program requirements, challenges, and success criteria; translate needs into actionable proposals. Lead annual quotation renewals, new work bids, and tracking of client workflow (in coordination with Client Services). Promote new ALS methods (e.g., Photon Assay) and secure volume commitments; coordinate with operations to ensure delivery readiness. Engage mine clients in Mine Processing Testing Solution (MPTS) discussions; prepare proposals, conduct site visits, and participate in project CEPs. Manage a team of BD Representatives across Canada, the US, and Mexico, ensuring consistent execution of regional BD strategy and best practices. Set clear goals, KPIs, and territory plans for each BD Representative; monitor performance and provide regular coaching and feedback. Lead weekly pipeline and forecast reviews; drive accountability for opportunity qualification, stage progression, and close rates. Foster a culture of collaboration, client focus, and ethical selling; ensure adherence to ALS policies and compliance requirements. Coordinate cross-border activities, ensuring alignment on pricing, proposals, contract terms, and brand standards. Facilitate knowledge sharing (competitive intelligence, case studies, win/loss analyses) and continuous improvement across the region. Manage travel schedules and coverage to optimize client engagement across geographies while controlling costs. Support escalation and resolution of client issues; serve as the regional point of contact for strategic accounts. Observe established safety regulations and comply with all health and safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent relationship building and communication skills with a background in working with senior management and stakeholder teams. Strong commercial acumen including pricing, margin management and deal structuring. Proven ability to translate geochemistry capabilities into client outcomes. Strong analytical skills for market sizing, territory planning and technology driven account strategies. Proven strength in development and presentation of proposals, presentations and executive business review. Demonstrated skills in using technology tools such as CRM, MS Office, BI dashboard and familiarity with LIMS/data portals is an asset. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Geology, Geochemistry, Chemistry, Mining Engineering or related; MBA or post-secondary business education preferred. 7 10 years experience in client service, project management or business development role. Demonstrated success in selling technical services to mining/exploration clients. Strong understanding of sampling protocols, QA/QC, analytical methods, and data reporting relevant to exploration and production. Experience with RFPs/tenders, commercial negotiations, and multi-year agreements. Valid drivers license with a clean drivers record. Must be able to travel periodically throughout the year.
