Permanent Family Physician REACH Medical Clinic REACH Medical Clinic is hiring 2 family physicians at 0.7 FTE. A provider will see an average of 1520 patients a day, consisting of medically and psychosocially complex care including addictions care. Addictions care patients make up approximately 510% of the patient panel but account for a larger proportion of the clinics monthly visits; however the clinic serves full spectrum family medicine from cradle to grave. There may be house calls for homebound patients, as well as early prenatal care up to 20 weeks, but no obstetrics or 3rd trimester care. No inpatient hospital work is required. The incoming FP will negotiate their set weekly schedule with the CHC, and there may be some flexibility thereafter, constrained by room availability. One day a week permanent staff/MRPs will perform Telehealth, but all new locums are always required on site. Remuneration is in the form of sessional pay, with a patient panel focus on addictions and complexity. Qualifications include: Physician registered (Full/Provisional) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Commitment and ability to implement REACHs strategic goals, mission, vision, and values. A background in working with youth, mental health, addictions, fragile families, refugees, and frail elderly desired. Current methadone exception and Suboxone certification or willingness to obtain same. An awareness of the impact of colonization on Aboriginal peoples and understanding of cultural competency as a care provider. Ability to speak more than one language is an asset. Experience or training in delivering medical education is an asset. Experience or training in primary care research and policy is an asset. Our interdisciplinary team of professionals provides a range of health and social services, including a dental clinic, a pharmacy, and an Urgent and Primary Care Centre. Complementing these healthcare teams is our Health Equity and Engagement Department, strategically addressing the diverse social determinants of health. Within the medical clinic, we offer a holistic approach to healthcare. Our team consists of nine Family Physicians (7FTE) and two Nurse Practitioners (1.0FTE), ensuring personalized care for every patient. Supported by four nurses (LPNs, RNs), two counsellors (RCCs), and one social worker, we prioritize the wellbeing of our patients. Our dedicated team is onsite daily for 9am to 5pm, benefiting from an approximate 1:1 ratio of MOAs to FPs. To ensure seamless operations, we have a fulltime coordinator and parttime operations manager. We take pride in offering active mentorship through peer group support and weekly meetings. Opportunities for 1:1 mentorship can be negotiated. Our clinic is designed for both efficiency and comfort.
