What Youll Do The Farm Property & Casualty Underwriter II is responsible for detailed underwriting, risk analysis, and accurate premium calculations aligned with the companys risk appetite. This role responds to product and procedural questions from colleagues and brokers, provides guidance on complex new business, participates in postloss underwriting reviews, and collaborates with claims on our service philosophies. The Underwriter II collaborates with crossfunctional teams and models behaviours consistent with company values. Responsibilities Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel contracts in accordance with underwriting policies, procedures, service standards, applicable laws and regulations based on assigned authority levels. Process new applications, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, declines and quotes. Research and determine appropriate rates, apply discounts/surcharges, and accurately calculate premiums. Request inspections in accordance with company policies and procedures. Prepare related correspondence and maintain supporting documentation as required. Provide underwriting training/coaching to new hires or team members. Participate in postloss underwriting reviews and reviews on claim files referred in accordance with risk appetite and service standards. Understand and communicate underwriting business rules and guidelines to brokers. Provide service to brokers in accordance with company service standards. Requirements Candidates must reside in Canada and be authorized to work in Canada. Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Consistency in applying accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Adaptive and continuous improvement mindset. Minimum 2 years of experience with personal lines, farm or commercial underwriting (or related equivalent). A CIP designation or actively pursuing a CIP designation (or equivalent). A Bachelors Degree or postsecondary certificate is required (or equivalent industry experience). Ready to Make an Impact?
