Job Description

The Opportunity: We are looking for an experienced Environmental Reclamation Specialist to join our clients team in the environmental specialty industry. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a technically challenging and rewarding role, contributing to a wide range of environmental and reclamation projects across Western Canada. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project leadership, and a passion for environmental stewardship. What Youll Be Doing: Providing technical oversight, supervision, and mentorship on reclamation site assessments, including wellsite, facility, and pipeline projects Planning, coordinating, and managing environmental projects both in the field and from the office Conducting field work such as vegetation monitoring, Detailed Site Assessments (DSAs), and supervising/coordinating tree planting programs Assessing forested soils/vegetation and classifying peatland vegetation Supervising third-party contractors, field teams, and office staff as needed Leading and reporting on Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) Interpreting and analyzing environmental data and producing high-quality technical reports Preparing and managing project budgets Maintaining strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders Participating in health and safety programs for both company and client standards 30% of time in office, 70% on field work. What Youll Need to Be Successful: A university degree or diploma in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience from a recognized institution 510 years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation Eligibility or current registration with a professional association (e.g., APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB) in Alberta or Saskatchewan Strong working knowledge of Albertas surface reclamation regulations and guidelines Proficiency with Albertas 2010 Forested Criteria and 2017 Peatland Reclamation Criteria Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices (an asset) Excellent technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems independently A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects Compensation Range: $70,000 - $90,000
