Hartmann Young are partnered with a fast-growing Contract Research Organisation to appoint a Head of Oncology. This is a strategic leadership hire to build and lead the Oncology therapeutic area, driving scientific, operational, and commercial excellence across oncology programmes. The role will shape the CROs oncology strategy, strengthen capabilities, and act as a senior partner to biotech and pharmaceutical clients. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop the Oncology therapeutic area across clinical development programmes Define therapeutic strategy, capability development, and scientific positioning Provide senior scientific and operational oversight for oncology trials Partner with business development and operations to support client engagement and programme delivery Act as a senior oncology expert in client discussions, proposals, and governance forums Build and mentor high-performing oncology teams Requirements: Senior leadership experience in oncology within a CRO Strong knowledge of oncology drug development and clinical trial execution Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex programmes Credibility with senior client stakeholders Strong strategic, communication, and decision-making skills
