This position will work as part of the Human Resources team, providing support in various areas such as recruitment and onboarding, training, disability and claims management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations. This position will also participate in and support the Citys Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) to identify improvements in the way we deliver services. DUTIES: Assist with the recruitment process including conducting reference checks, drafting offers of employment, shortlisting candidates, preparing of interview questions, performing interviews, and participating in career fairs as required; Assist with the onboarding process, including drafting employee onboarding packages; Assist with the registration, preparation, and tracking of corporate training programs; Assist with the registration and tracking of the contractor orientation program; Assist with employee wellness and DEI initiatives; Assist with the disability and claims management process; Assist with preparing submissions for immigration programs and healthcare incentive programs; Assist with the preparation of departmental correspondence as well as electronic filing; Assist with day-to-day departmental functions as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Post-secondary graduate with a specialization in Human Resources Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related discipline; Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Strong attention to detail and analytic ability; Effective communication and interpersonal skills; Experience working in a multi-union environment considered an asset; Working towards CHRP designation considered an asset; Valid G drivers licence required; Current and Clear Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters Check required. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field; Candidate must not have participated in the NOHFC internship program in the 2020 Mandate; Candidate must be 18 years of age or older; Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada; Once hired, the candidate must reside in Timmins.
