Hardware Senior Principal Consultant (FPGA) Canada Role Overview We are hiring a Hardware Senior Principal Consultant (FPGA) to lead architecture and development of advanced FPGA solutions for 4G/5G Radio Units , aligned with 3GPP and the O-RAN Alliance ecosystem. This role involves solving complex technical problems, driving innovation, influencing long-term strategy, and mentoring engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Design and develop FPGA IP architecture for 4G/5G Radio Units Implement complex RTL blocks (Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL) and integrate into system designs Optimize FPGA resource utilization and ensure timing closure Define and execute verification plans using UVM and advanced verification techniques Perform simulation and system-level FPGA validation Partner with Radio Unit and software teams for hardware-software interoperability Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support design/architecture reviews Contribute to roadmap strategy, competitive analysis, cost targets, and technical standards Required Skills / Experience Strong hands-on experience in FPGA design & RTL development Expertise in NR / LTE / eCPRI / CPRI / PTP protocols and signal processing Familiarity with JESD204B/C, Ethernet, PCIe, AXI , and high-speed SERDES Tools: Quartus, Vivado, MATLAB/Simulink, HDL Coder Strong knowledge of UVM and verification methodologies Solid understanding of 4G/5G Radio architecture and O-RAN ecosystem Experience with Git/GitHub workflows and version control best practices Preferred 7+ years FPGA design experience in wireless or high-speed systems Experience in high-volume wireless products and IP development Contributions to O-RAN / 3GPP or relevant technical forums
