This is a senior leadership role for a true department owner, someone who can build structure, drive preventative maintenance, verify quality of work, reduce downtime, and lead a strong team culture. Key Responsibilities Manage and lead the Maintenance Department, setting clear standards for safety, performance, urgency, and accountability. Build, manage, and continuously improve a structured Preventive Maintenance Program. Lead maintenance planning, scheduling, shutdown coordination, and work prioritization to support production targets. Develop and manage and maintain training program. Verify and inspect completed maintenance work performed by the team to confirm quality, safety, and equipment performance standards are met. Review, approve, and sign off on completed work orders to ensure tasks are properly documented and closed out to standard. Troubleshoot, repair, and support automated production equipment and facility systems (conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.) Drive downtime reduction through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and long-term reliability solutions. Lead equipment improvements, upgrades, installations, and maintenance-related projects from start to finish. Manage maintenance documentation, SOPs, and ensure audit-ready traceability under HACCP/GMP. Manage spare parts, tools, and inventory control to ensure readiness and cost-effective purchasing. Collaborate closely with Production and Quality teams to improve uptime, efficiency, and compliance. Supervise contractors and vendors, ensuring safe work execution, quality workmanship, and cost control. Track performance using key maintenance KPIs (PM compliance, downtime trends, response time, costs). Lead training, coaching, and development of maintenance staff while supporting and growing the Millwright apprenticeship program. Education & Experience: Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) 433A (Mandatory) Minimum 5+ years experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing / production environment. Proven experience leading preventive maintenance and equipment reliability in an industrial setting. Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment (conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.) Experience managing work orders, maintenance planning, and maintenance documentation. Ability to read and write in English (required for work orders, documentation, SOPs, and audit records). Competencies: Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability.
