Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for over 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for an EXPERIENCED CIVIL UNDERGROUND FOREMAN to join our team. This is a fulltime seasonal position that offers competitive wage with benefits. Primary duties include overseeing the daytoday coordination of a civil underground crew in the removal and placement of underground utilities as part of infrastructure construction and rehabilitation projects. You will be expected to lead, mentor and monitor the performance of your crew, while also completing the required documentation and reporting associated with civil underground projects and crew supervision (e.g. timesheets, site inspections & hazard assessments). Physical Requirements Work long hours, overtime, and consecutive days as required. Must be able to perform all job duties in a wide range of adverse weather conditions. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, balance, and climb. Exert heavy physical effort (handling average weight objects up to 50lbs safely, performing labor activities). Ability to operate equipment as required to complete the project. Additional Duties Complete daily hazard assessment/toolbox meetings focused on daily planned scope of work. Evaluate and adjust work plan based on ground conditions. Utilize ground disturbance best practices, including various shoring methods and safe excavation practices. Understand grades and general survey. Ensure sites are clean and properly maintained. Keep tools secure, clean, and in good working order. Implement proper lifting & rigging techniques onsite. Ensure all work performed by employees (including yourself) complies with all legislation and company safe work policies and procedures. Delegate crew members to complete daily preequipment checks, checklists, and preventative maintenance. Qualifications Full understanding/compliance with City/Epcor specifications for the tasks you are completing. Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain professionalism in highpressure situations with other workers, consultants, or members of the public. Ability to read and understand drawings. Valid Class 5 Driver''s license. Ability to operate equipment if required. Able to work outside in all weather conditions. Available MondayFriday and when necessary for overtime & weekends. Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset. Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset.
