The role involves design, implementation, analysis, and translation of Indigenous community-based research with an emphasis on social-ecological justice in aquatic contexts. The candidate should maintain rigorous attention to data quality and community data handling to support credible study results. Qualifications PhD in oceans and fisheries or related field. Extensive experience (4+ years) in designing, implementing, analyzing and translating Indigenous community-based research, with a focus on social-ecological justice in aquatic contexts. Experience with Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing and the ability to apply that understanding in all aspects of the work. Proficiency with transcription software (e.g., Trint) and qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo). High level of cultural competency and sensitivity; ability to engage respectfully with Indigenous communities and maintain longstanding research relationships.
