About the opportunity: The Operations Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Operations Accounting function at plant level for a complex and/or large plant and provides analytical support to the Operations group and Head Office Finance. The attributes we are looking for: Lead and manage the plant Finance team to achieve high performance, commitment, cross- functional cooperation and a results orientation. Coordinate, review and/or prepare reports on monthly results in conjunction with Operations Accountants, Plant Manager(s) and other staff. Coordinate, review, and prepare annual budgets and ongoing forecasts. Develop and review standard (dock) costs for use in evaluating plant and division performance and valuation of inventory in conjunction with Finance staff, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain. Manage staff by hiring, reviewing performance and providing feedback, determining training and development needs, and providing work direction. Establish key objectives for the department and the employees therein. Develop and implement appropriate reporting of yields and other operating results for internal plant and division/company KPI purposes. Review and update policies, processes and procedures in order to ensure continuous improvement. What you will bring: Post secondary education in Accounting, or a related discipline, plus a recognized professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CA) Minimum of five (5) years experience in costing and general operations accounting including three (3) years experience in a supervisory role or coordinating major projects Strong team facilitation/leadership skills with a demonstrated commitment to employee development. Strong problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to multi-task, quickly absorb and utilize new concepts, processes and technologies and to function in a fast-paced changing environment. Strong communication skills. Strong computer skills. Compensation: As part of our commitment to fairness, trust, and transparency and our ambition to be an Employer of Choice, the base salary range for this position is $99,100 $123,900+ .
