LTO EA Level D Extended Day After School 10 hrs/wk Floradale This posting is open to WRDSB employees who are members of the EA Association as well as external applicants. Qualifications and Requirements Certified Teachers Educational Assistant Diploma or Educational Support Diploma from an accredited postsecondary institution Developmental Service Worker (DSW) from an accredited postsecondary institution Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited postsecondary institution Social Services Diploma (SSW) from an accredited postsecondary institution Postsecondary degree in Sociology from an accredited postsecondary institution AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience Minimum six month diploma from an accredited postsecondary institution in a childrelated discipline AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience Minimum six month certificate from an accredited educational institution in a childrelated discipline AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. This could include but is not limited to programs such as the St. Louis Adult Learning certificate program. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience Postsecondary degree/diploma from an accredited postsecondary institution that is complementary to supporting special needs children as solely determined by the Board AND a MINIMUM of one (1) year (1,224) hours of related work experience preferably directly supporting special needs children. In lieu of relevant related work experience, the Board may consider significant relevant volunteer experience Assets A valid Behaviour Management Systems certification Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and schoolbased experience Autism Spectrum Disorder Training Lifting/Positioning Training Experience with interviews Interview Process Interview will be conducted via Interviewstream. Employment Verification and Safety All employees working in licensed child care programs are required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check issued by a Police Service on or before every fifth anniversary after the date of the most recent check and to complete an annual offence declaration through the WRDSB staff portal. Additionally, employees working in before and after school programs must obtain a VSC, submit original electronic copy for review, and maintain a valid first aid and CPR certificate or update training annually.
