Job Overview Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and resultsdriven professional to join our team in the role of Director, Nuclear Regulatory Affairs Strategy. Reporting to the VP, Nuclear Regulatory Affairs, the Director Nuclear Regulatory Affairs Strategy is accountable for management of the Nuclear Regulatory Affairs program for Wesleyville New Nuclear Project, New Nuclear Projects and licensing strategies. As a representative for OPG, this role maintains important relationships with stakeholders such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, International Atomic Energy Agency, and our host communities. This role is responsible for strategic and tactical advice to OPGs senior executives and management on regulatory program trends, performance, and compliance. Key Accountabilities Develop and implement comprehensive regulatory strategies to support the successful licensing, construction, and operation of the Wesleyville New Nuclear Project Ensure all project activities comply with applicable nuclear regulations, standards, and licensing requirements at the federal, provincial, and local levels. Build, lead, and mentor a highperforming regulatory affairs team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, industry partners, and other external stakeholders, maintaining effective communication and strong working relationships Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of all regulatory documentation, applications, and reports required for project approvals and ongoing compliance. Identify regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines and objectives are met. Monitor changes in nuclear regulatory policies, standards, and best practices, advising senior leadership on potential impacts and necessary actions. Promote a proactive approach to regulatory affairs, driving process improvements and fostering a culture of regulatory excellence throughout the organization. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Regulatory Affairs, Nuclear Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science, or a related field Additional training or certification in Regulatory Affairs, Nuclear Safety, or Project Management is an asset. Experience in Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission or Nuclear Licensing an asset 10+ years of progressive experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or licensing within the nuclear power industry Demonstrated track record of successful regulatory submissions and interactions with regulatory agencies (CNSC,NRC, or equivalent) Experience leading and building highperforming teams Proven ability to develop and execute regulatory strategies for largescale, complex projects Strong knowledge of nuclear regulations, standards, and licensing processes at federal, provincial, and local levels Experience coordinating with internal stakeholders and external agencies Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills Experience with new nuclear development or major capital projects is highly desirable The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.
