Peace River Regional District Communications Manager Full Time, Permanent Position Overview Reporting to the Corporate Officer, the Communications Manager will manage the development and implementation of the PRRD communications plan including internal and external communications. This position manages the communications strategy aimed at advancing PRRDs positive image through media relations, online communications, community engagement initiatives and promotional opportunities. This position will be located out of our Dawson Creek office. Key Accountabilities Research and develop a variety of written communications such as briefing notes for public meetings, press conferences, media releases, public service announcements, and general publications. Coordinate and manage overall brand and corporate identity of PRRD designing, coordinating, and producing printed materials, publications, and online presence. Oversee and implement social media strategy. Lead the implementation and evaluation of community engagement initiatives in alignment with PRRD Strategic Plan providing support to elected officials and department heads as required. In the event of an emergency this position will be a key member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a postsecondary degree or diploma in communications or a related discipline plus a minimum five (5) years related experience in a local government setting. Professional certification in communications through the International Association for Public Participation plus membership in the Canadian Public Relations Society would be an asset. The ideal candidate will have experience building relationships and engaging with Indigenous partners. Additional Information The hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 8:30am 4:30pm, with one hour for lunch. This exempt position offers a competitive salary range of $97,817 $115,079, benefits package and an excellent team. Join the PRRD Team!
