As Director of Care, you will champion a residentcentered culture, ensuring high quality, safe, and compassionate care for all residents while fostering an engaging team environment. Key Outcomes Advocate for resident safety and continual quality improvement. Achieve high resident and family engagement measured by survey results. Consistently meet or exceed quality and clinical performance indicators. Drive increased employee engagement and positive culture. Maintain regulatory compliance for care plans, policies, and procedures. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the residentcare team, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Oversee staff education, training, and professional development. Manage financial stewardship of the care staff complement and nursing budget. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, licensing, accreditation, and employment standards. Identify and address resident issues, manage clinical risks, and respond to critical incidents. Maintain a customerservice mindset, responding to feedback from residents, families, vendors, and staff with empathy. Supervise resident assessment and careplanning processes, ensuring personalized care plans. Collaborate with the leadership team, residents, and families to optimize resident care. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident safety, wellness, and satisfaction. Support homelevel strategic priorities, developing operational and staffing plans for resident care. Engage vendors and community health partners for quality initiatives and training. Uphold and promote Extendicares Mission, Vision, Values, ethics, morality, and integrity. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Nursing; Masters degree preferred. Registered Nurse with unrestricted provincial license. Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role in longterm care. Working knowledge of longterm care regulations, standards, and best practices. Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Track record of implementing quality improvement initiatives with positive resident outcomes. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
