Position: Intermediate Systems Administrator/Operations Support Specialist Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract) Client Location: Toronto ( Onsite : 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday) Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement B2B (Incorporated Entities Only) Note on Assignment Type This position is provisionally Onsite , requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM , Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager. About the Engagement Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate Systems Administrator / Operations Support Specialist to provide 24/7/365 monitoring and operational support for mission-critical systems hosted in OPS Guelph Data Centres. This role ensures system availability, incident management, and operational coverage for essential public-facing applications and infrastructure. Scope Continuous monitoring and support of mainframe, UNIX, Windows servers, storage, and network devices to meet defined SLAs. Rapid identification, analysis, and resolution of production issues; timely escalation to technical support teams. Implementing batch and online system change requests, updates, upgrades, and patches . Provide 24/7/365 monitoring and support for OPS systems and subsystems to ensure availability per defined SLAs. Rapid identification, analysis, and resolution of production issues; escalate promptly to technical support teams as needed. Maintain operational coverage for mission-critical, public-facing applications and systems hosted in Guelph Data Centre. Must Have: 58+ years of experience supporting large z/OS mainframe systems. Strong knowledge of Unix and Wintel servers and network peripherals. Experience with Incident and Change Management activities. Proficiency with Service Management Tools (eSMT, CIT, Remedy) and ITIL framework. Nice to Have: Strong documentation and communication skills (verbal and written). Experience in presentation and training delivery. Security Clearance Required Important This is a business-to-business engagement.
