We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Worker to support the daily upkeep, safety, and operation of our seniors residence. This role includes general building maintenance, minor repairs and preventative upkeep,. This position is ideal for someone who is practical, safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a seniors environment. Key Responsibilities Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs (plumbing, basic electrical, doors, fixtures, hardware, etc.) Respond to maintenance requests in resident suites and common areas Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the building Assist with light painting, patching, and general repairs Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance and storage areas Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as required Respond to emergency maintenance issues promptly and professionally Property upkeep (Snow Removal, Grass, etc) Conduct routine fire and life-safety maintenance, including checks of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signage, fire doors, and alarm pull stations Assist with scheduled fire alarm testing, inspections, and fire drills Maintain accurate fire safety and inspection logs Identify, report, and follow up on fire safety deficiencies Coordinate access for fire protection service providers and inspections Participate in an after-hours and weekend on-call rotation for emergency maintenance Provide coverage interchangeably with other Maintenance Workers to ensure consistent support Qualifications Previous maintenance, building operations, or handyman experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and building systems (HVAC an asset) Experience with fire safety checks or willingness to be trained Strong attention to safety, detail, and documentation Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Professional, respectful, and patient when interacting with seniors Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Why Work With Us Meaningful work supporting seniors safety and comfort Flexible scheduling Training provided where required Opportunity for consistent hours and long-term employment
