Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and driven Structural Project Manager to join our Restoration team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex building science and restoration projects from inception to completion. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring successful project delivery in terms of time, quality, and budget. KEY RESULT AREAS FOR THIS ROLE Building Restoration: Provide technical expertise and leadership on structural restoration and rehabilitation projects, including balconies, parking garages, foundation walls, hydro vaults, asphalt pavements, and post-tensioned and pre-tensioned concrete structures. Lead structural condition assessments, investigations, and testing to evaluate deterioration mechanisms, load-carrying capacity, and long-term performance. Develop and review repair, strengthening, and rehabilitation designs for existing structures, including building alterations and additions. Oversee the execution of structural restoration work to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, while delivering safe, durable, and client-aligned outcomes. Project Management: Lead and manage structural restoration and repair projects, ensuring successful delivery from initial planning through to project completion. Define project scope, specify deliverables, and estimate and control project duration. Review and approve deliverables to ensure compliance with client objectives. Provide guidance and training to Project Associates and junior staff in executing projects, including preparation or review of specifications, schematic design, and contract administration. Act as the primary point of contact for clients and contractors, ensuring effective conflict resolution and efficient project execution. Participate in discussions to devise cost-effective solutions while addressing any unusual conditions affecting work progress. Client Management and Development: Build and maintain strong client relationships by acting as the key liaison between clients, contractors, and internal teams. Ensure timely follow-up on requests and drive projects to completion by providing clear, responsive communication. Represent the company with clients on an ongoing basis, continuously seeking feedback and implementing suggestions for improvement. Identify future work opportunities at client properties and foster long-term partnerships that benefit both the client and the firm. Revenue Generation: Participate in both short-term and long-term strategic planning, contributing to the overall growth and financial success of the company. Take responsibility for meeting financial targets and managing project budgets to ensure profitability and efficiency. Qualifications Knowledge Minimum 5+ years of building science experience within the consulting sector, with a strong focus on restoration and rehabilitation projects. Minimum 2+ years as a Project Manager. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligibility to obtain the designation. End-to-end project delivery: Proven ability to lead structural restoration projects from conception through completion, including scope definition, contract administration, scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and lifecycle oversight. Technical structural restoration expertise: Strong experience in concrete repair, strengthening, and waterproofing of load-bearing systems such as balconies, parking structures, foundation walls, and post-tensioned and pre-tensioned concrete structures. Design and specification development: Demonstrated expertise in preparing structural schematic designs, detailed repair and strengthening specifications, Building Condition Assessment reports, and technical documentation for existing structural assets. Cost and financial management: Experienced in developing accurate remedial repair cost estimates, preparing proposals, and guiding projects to meet established financial targets. Diverse building portfolio experience: Extensive experience delivering restoration and building science projects across a wide range of building types, including multi-residential (condominiums), community housing, municipal buildings, commercial offices, and recreational facilities. Planning, Organization & Project Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including preventive measures, contingency strategies, and clear priorities. Ensure efficient project delivery through strong organizational skills, coordination, and oversight of all aspects of execution.
