As the Director of Care, you would be responsible for the coordination and implementation of resident care, based upon pre-established standards, to ensure quality of life for each individual resident. Requirements: Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the relevant Provincial Nurses College. Management experience 5 years (preferred) Retirement or Health Care for 5 years (preferred) A seasoned professional is preferred. Current CPR and First Aid and N95 training Experience with the RHRA, Retirement Homes, or long-term care nursing is desirable. Experience with Dementia/Alzheimers care is an asset. Skill in planning, coordination, delivery and supervising a comprehensive nursing care program. Must demonstrate excellent compassion, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Must stay current with changes to legislation, regulation and nursing policy changes and participate in mandatory educational in-services. Duties include, but are not limited to: Planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the overall nursing program for residents which would include the implementation of nursing practices and policies. Being responsible for the assessment, admission and discharge of residents. Engage with residents and their families to address concerns, resolve complaints, and review suggestions as appropriate. Maintaining contact with residents to ensure a high quality of care. Working in cooperation with the Executive Director to hire, direct, train and schedule nursing personnel May recommend reprimand, suspension or discharge of employees. Completing required monthly reports for both the Executive Director and Senior Management. Being responsible for control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and supervising the drug administration program, where applicable, including the administration of medication by all registered staff.
