ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform assembly-type functions using hand and/or power tools (without supervision) Ensure Quality Standards are met Move materials using hand cart and or pallet jack Basic computer skills Pressure washing Shop clean up Able to complete forklift training and safely operate a forklift Perform all welding tasks with a variety of equipment Weld plastic (roofs/panels) Perform all cutting operations utilizing all standard shop equipment Fabricate from a drawing and/or verbal instructions with limited supervision Safely rig materials for lifting Adhere to all safety policies and perform all tasks in a safe manner including adherence to provincial regulations May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Market Manager Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management) JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements High School diploma or equivalent 3-5 years'' experience in construction, building trades or assembly Ability to read and understand English is required for provincial safety regulations Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties; ability to apply these skills to units of American weight measurement, volume and distance Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 60 lbs. Ability to walk, drive and stand for extended periods of time during assigned shift; Ability to climb, kneel, crouch or crawl Ability to climb a ladder Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment Ability to reach and work above head level Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device WORKING CONDITIONS Shift start times may vary; some additional hours may be required including Saturdays; required to work overtime as needed. Warehouse and/or repair center locations may not be climate controlled except for specific areas. Regular attendance and punctuality required
