Your Opportunity Triton is growing and we are hiring to support that growth We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Planners to join our well-established team of environmental professionals In this role, you will be working with project teams to help advance some of the most exciting projects in British Columbia and Alberta through their full regulatory life cycle, from the permitting and planning stage to post-construction environmental monitoring. You will be responsible for leading and providing guidance on multi-discipline environmental scopes that consider relevant federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and guidelines. You will also author, or assist with authoring, various technical reports required through the regulatory approvals process. Your Impact Scoping environmental permitting and planning requirements for projects and provide advice to clients Preparing and submitting federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulatory applications and authorizations Participating in technical meetings with clients, regulators, Triton project teams, and other stakeholders Providing regulatory and permitting guidance and recommendations to project teams Preparing and authenticating technical reports, including but not limited to Environmental Assessments, Environmental Overview Assessments, Fish and Fish Habitat reports, Environmental Management Plans, and Environmental Protection Plans. Preparing and/or assisting with the preparation of proposals, internal guidance documents, and presentations Your Skills & Experience Must be registered with a provincial governing body (e.g., the BC College of Applied Biologists, Alberta Society of Professional Biologists, BC or AB Institute of Agrology) Have at least five years of relevant technical experience, including submitting regulatory applications (experience in the oil and gas industry preferred) Thorough knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory processes (including, but not limited to, the Water Sustainability Act , Wildlife Act , Fisheries Act , BCER''s Environmental Protection and Management Guideline, Alberta Water Act , Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act , federal Fisheries Act, CER Filing Manual) Strong technical writing and communication skills, including the ability to adhere to QA/QC procedures, budgets, and timelines Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment Your Future at Triton For more than three decades, Triton has helped clients balance development with environmental responsibility through pragmatic, science-based solutions.
