Motel Manager Location: Prince Rupert, British Columbia Job Description: We are seeking a highly organized and responsible individual to join our team as manager at our guesthouse. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the guesthouse, including managing staff, handling guest inquiries and requests, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the property. In addition, the manager will be responsible for minor maintenance tasks, and minor repairs as needed. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the hospitality industry and excellent communication and customer service skills. They must also be able to work well in a team and have the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The ability to perform minor maintenance tasks is also essential. This position is based on a salary and the manager will be required to work 4 to 7 days at a time. . The schedule will be determined based on the needs of the guesthouse and may include weekends and holidays. We normally have two front desk managers, each responsible for covering half of the month This is a live-in position, and the manager will receive free housing on-site in addition to a competitive salary of $30,000/year. Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the guesthouse, including managing staff, handling guest inquiries and requests, and ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of the property Perform minor maintenance task such as changing light bulbs, programing lock, and minor repairs as needed Maintain accurate records and documentation, including reservations, guest information, and financial reports Plan and implement strategies to increase guest satisfaction and revenue Assist with the planning and execution of events and special functions Handle any issues or concerns that may arise in a timely and professional manner Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Business Management or related field (preferred) 1+ years of experience in the hospitality industry (preferred) Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work well in a team and multitask effectively Ability to perform minor maintenance tasks Ability to live on-site at the guesthouse We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
