Overview We are seeking a skilled Material Handler Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for efficient materials handling, order fulfillment, and inventory management within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, and a commitment to safety standards such as ACSA regulations. Duties Operate forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse Use of in-house developed warehouse management systems for accurate order picking, shipping, and receiving processes Assist with order picking activities, ensuring correct items are selected for shipment Load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining safety protocols Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical integrity and report any issues Conduct in-depth inspections of imported goods to ensure quality and absence of damages. Report all findings to management. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are stored securely and safely, according to material type, shape and storage environment requirements Support warehouse operations by participating in inventory counts and cycle counts Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures during all operational activities Skills Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and shipping & receiving operations Ability to operate forklifts, crane, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting an asset Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control methods Experience with heavy lifting techniques and proper use of pallet jacks Knowledge of ACSA safety standards applicable to warehouse environments Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and materials handling tasks Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings such as construction or distribution centers Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles or construction environments is a plus This position is vital for maintaining smooth operations within our facility.
