Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacy operations and contribute to safe, efficient patient care. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist with medication preparation, data entry, inventory management, and administrative tasks while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists with the preparation, packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications, in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements. Perform accurate data entry of prescription information, patient profiles, and inventory records using pharmacy management systems (including Kroll). Support patient care by responding to non-clinical inquiries and directing medication-related questions to the pharmacist as appropriate. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in compliance with privacy, documentation, and regulatory standards. Manage pharmacy inventory by ordering, receiving, checking, stocking, and rotating medications and supplies. Ensure adherence to pharmacy policies, infection control practices, and applicable federal, provincial/state, and institutional regulations. Assist with routine pharmacy operations, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate medication distribution and positive patient outcomes. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or in a comparable pharmacy or healthcare support role. Proven experience with Kroll pharmacy software; proficiency will be assessed during the interview process. Strong working knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients, pharmacists, and healthcare staff. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with pharmacy workflows; understanding of medication administration processes is considered an asset (administration performed only by authorized personnel).
