Your new role The Associate Director, Clinical Medical Managers (CMMs) is responsible for leading and developing the Clinical Medical Manager function in Canada, ensuring high-quality medical and scientific support for Novo Nordisk''s clinical development programs in diabetes, obesity and related metabolic diseases. Reporting into the Global Trial Portfolio organization, this role provides strategic and operational leadership to a growing team of CMMs, working in close partnership with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, CMR and cross-functional stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in enabling successful trial execution, supporting investigator engagement, and ensuring medical excellence across clinical activities. Responsibilities The role leads a highly specialized team of 24 Clinical Medical Managers, with responsibility for recruitment, onboarding, performance management and capability development. There may also be involvement in senior CMM recruitment or advisory activities beyond Canada, depending on business needs. Your responsibilities will include: Lead, recruit and manage the Clinical Medical Manager team in Canada, ensuring strong performance, engagement and alignment with organizational and regulatory standards. Provide medical and scientific oversight for diabetes and obesity clinical programs, supporting trial design, feasibility, execution and delivery in close collaboration with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs. Oversee site identification, investigator engagement and feasibility activities, ensuring effective collaboration with KOLs, research centers, and internal stakeholders. Ensure high-quality medical guidance across clinical trials, including recruitment oversight, risk assessment and mitigation, and ongoing medical monitoring. Drive medical education and capability building by developing and coordinating training for CMMs, clinical staff, CDC teams and cross-functional partners. Your Skills And Qualifications Medical Doctor degree preferred; PhD or Master''s degree in a relevant scientific discipline may be considered if MD is not available. Solid background in diabetes, obesity and metabolism, with strong exposure to clinical development, ideally including Phase III clinical trials. Minimum 5 years of experience in clinical research or the pharmaceutical industry. Proven people management experience (at least 23 years), preferably in pharma, CRO or academic clinical research settings. Experience as a clinical trial investigator or sub-investigator is an asset. Prior experience within Medical Affairs is considered a strong advantage. Excellent communication, stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and quickly assume ownership of complex clinical programs.
