The Opportunity The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the implementation and ongoing management of a new inventory management system, ensuring efficient tracking, movement, and accountability of all inventory items. Reporting to the Procurement and Inventory Supervisor, the Inventory Control Coordinator will ensure that the inventory resources of the organization are measured, organized and well-coordinated with a continuous improvement mindset. What You''ll Do: Work directly with the Procurement and Inventory Supervisor to achieve organizational food distribution goals. Identify solutions, plan and execute measures to mitigate risk and advise on requirements to purchase or source food products. Support the implementation of a new inventory management system, ensuring a smooth transition from legacy processes to the new platform. Collaborate with IT, warehouse, and operations teams to configure, test, and optimize the ERP-driven inventory solution. Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to inventory control and system usage. Provide training on the new inventory management system, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting as needed. Monitor inventory levels, perform regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate records. Generate and analyze inventory reports for management, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all inventory operations. Participate in audits and support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and warehouse efficiency. Ensure accurate product inventory for clients. Identify and report risk exposures (e.g. Shortages, excess products). Monitor FIFO and best before date compliance. Assist with budgeting process. What You Bring: Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) considered an asset. Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a similar field. Direct experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Goldfinch, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, etc.) in inventory control capacity. Inventory-related certification (such as CPIM, CSCP, or similar) is strongly preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience delivering training and supporting end users. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting. Familiarity with food safety standards and warehouse environments is an asset. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Satisfactory Criminal Record check.
