Job Title: Sr Technical Architect Location: Vaughan, ON Job type: Part-time About this Role Global Commercial Fire, a business unit of Kidde Global Systems, is seeking a highly accomplished PartTime Engineering Fellow to serve as a Senior Technical Architect and specialized consultant supporting our global fire protection systems portfolio. This role is designed for a seasoned expert who can provide highvalue technical leadership on a flexible, parttime basis with a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week while influencing the architecture and performance of nextgeneration fire detection and suppression platforms. Key Responsibilities Advise on the architecture and technical requirements for a nextgeneration fire communication protocol. Provide expert guidance on timing models, deterministic behavior, device polling, and faulttolerance strategies. Recommend embeddedsystem constraints and RTOS considerations to ensure protocol feasibility and reliability. Review and refine interface specifications, message structures, and errorhandling approaches. Assess existing fireindustry protocols and advise on innovations and gaps for nextgen development. Participate in design reviews and early validation efforts in an advisory capacity. Mentor engineering teams on protocol design principles and safetycritical communication patterns. Basic Qualifications Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience). 15+ years of experience in embedded systems design, realtime operating systems (RTOS), or safetycritical firmware development. Preferred Qualifications Deep technical knowledge of fire detection, alarm, or suppression systems, including communication architectures and lifesafety regulatory requirements.
