Role Overview Reporting to the EVP, Production, the Director of Production will manage physical production and post production across the studios television slate of scripted, unscripted and animated productions. Drawing on extensive production experience either as a line producer, production manager, or in a similar management role at a studio, the Director of Production provides strategic support across planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of production and postproduction to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest creative standard. The Director of Production will collaborate with colleagues in Boat Rockers Creative, Finance, Business & Legal Affairs, and Rights departments and liaise with external network and production partners. Key Responsibilities Development Evaluate scripts, concepts, and early materials to assess production needs, feasibility, locations, schedules, and cost implications. Create and manage development budgets, including, if applicable, writer room budgets and set up. Manage writer rooms setup and wrap which entails securing office space, setting up the team with supplies and software as needed, onboarding and managing write room admin staff, etc. Partner with Creative, Finance and Business & Legal Affairs teams to assess production strategy, timelines, and resources needs during early project stages. Production Create and/or review production schedules ensuring all delivery commitments are met. Work with the EVP, Production to manage physical production and post production of multiple television productions across a wide range of budgets and genres (scripted, unscripted and animation), from greenlight through delivery. Work with EVP, Production to provide endtoend financial oversight for all productions, from preliminary budgets through final delivery, ensuring budgets meet greenlight requirements and network expectations. Monitor cost reports, manage overages, and flag financial risks while recommending corrective actions to senior leadership. Pursue costsaving initiatives, manage vendor and facility negotiations, and recommend production efficiencies across the slate. Collaborate with Finance and Business & Legal Affairs on abovetheline deals. Build and vet vendor database and offer appropriate suggestions for producing projects. Travel to sets during prep and production to ensure studio protocols, safety standards, and operational best practices are upheld. Establish and maintain production standards, workflows, and policies that support efficiency, safety, and creative excellence, including maintaining and updating production policies and manuals. Lead studiowide safety oversight, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Ministry of Labor, union, antiharassment legislation and local regulatory requirements. Manage production risk, insurance coverage, health and safety protocols, and crisis response. Manage wrap process with the production office reviewing policies and procedures, ensuring memos and drives are in compliance with studio protocols. PostProduction Vet and approve post vendors and negotiate terms of vendor engagements. Oversee daily post production operations with showspecific postproduction Supervisor across active and developing series. Oversee the studios post production workflow standards from camera to delivery and ensure technical best practices. Responsibility for deliverables, credits, storage, and archiving of materials. Track project deliverables paperwork and ensures compliance with delivery dates. Responsible for project invoice and PO approvals and assist with the completion of remaining invoice process and approvals after crew wrap. Review Boat Rocker series assets and ensure proper archival of all elements on set drives, Avid drives, dailies finals and paperwork. Assist in workflow and delivery management for other Boat Rocker departments special projects (e.g. sizzles, award submissions, trailers, marketing, sales videos, etc.). Talent & Industry Leadership Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with producers, showrunners, crew, production service companies, vendors, facilities, and union partners. Maintain deep knowledge of union, guild, and nonunion labor rules, build relationships with guild partners, and ensure full compliance with collective agreements. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in production / post production, ideally in scripted, unscripted and animation. Demonstrated success in delivering productions on time and on budget across various budget ranges. Strong understanding of technologies associated with production including Entertainment Partners (e.g. Movie Magic, Smart Start, Smart Accounting, Scenechronize etc.), MS Office products, etc. Deep knowledge of guild agreements and tax credit regulations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fastpaced entrepreneurial environment, meeting stringent deadlines.
