About The Role This position has a hybrid work arrangement . On average, this means 1 day(s) on-site per week . Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities. Reporting to the Director of Cyber Security Engineering, the Cyber Security Engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert, responsible for the design, implementation, and automation of resilient security solutions protecting ATB Financials critical assets. This role serves as a senior-level technical subject matter expert and advisor responsible for engineering complex security infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environments. You will drive the full lifecycle of security initiatives, from designing firewalls and VPC controls to integrating advanced proactive systems like SIEM/SOAR and EDR - to harden the organization''''s security posture. By bridging the gap between engineering and leadership, you will ensure technical solutions align with business goals and financial industry compliance frameworks. Accountabilities Implement and configure security controls based on established solution designs, focusing on cloud environments (GCP/AWS/Azure), network security, and identity platforms. Develop and maintain Terraform scripts to automate the deployment of security resources, ensuring consistency across environments. Act as a technical point of contact for Operations and Project teams, providing guidance on the application of security policies and troubleshooting security-related issues. Assist in the deployment and administration of IAM solutions, including SSO, MFA, and service account management, ensuring adherence to the Principle of Least Privilege. Manage and monitor cloud-native security features, including VPC Service Controls, Cloud Firewalls, WAF policies, and Load Balancer security configurations. Support the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities across the environment, collaborating with development teams to ensure secure coding and configuration. Create and update technical documentation, ''''runbooks,'''' and process diagrams to ensure operational readiness and compliance. Assist the SOC and Incident Response teams during security events, providing technical context and helping to implement containment or remediation steps. Skills, Experience & Requirements 8+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to Cybersecurity Engineering or Security Solution Design. Practical expertise in at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) with a focus on cloud network security and identity management tools. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, and Web Proxies, including the ability to troubleshoot and secure complex network traffic flows. Proficiency in core authentication protocols, including SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect. Ability to translate industry frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls) into enforceable technical controls and configurations. Experience securing Docker/Kubernetes environments and integrating automated security scanning into CI/CD pipelines. Highly desirable credentials include CISSP, GSEC, or professional-level cloud security certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer). Hands-on experience using Terraform for secure infrastructure deployment. Proficiency in Python for automating security tasks and streamlining workflows. Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex technical vulnerabilities and design robust security remediations. A self-starter who takes accountability for tasks from design to implementation, ensuring high-quality documentation and execution. A collaborative team player capable of translating technical security risks into clear business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
