Job Summary The Nursing Services Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and organization of the nursing department. This role ensures high standards of care while aligning with GEM Health Care Group''s mission, values, and strategic plan. In the absence of the Administrator/Director of Health Care Services, the Nursing Services Manager assumes responsibility and acts as a designate leader. Responsibilities Staff Leadership & Development Train, onboard, and mentor staff Support performance evaluations for RNs and LPNs Assist with staff investigations and disciplinary actions Promote a culture of safety and teamwork Resident Care Oversee resident care coordination and improvement initiatives Organize resident care conferences Audit resident files, records, and confidentiality Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and guidelines Develop and implement new policies and procedures Operations and Compliance Manage admissions, discharges, and transfers Liaise with external regulatory bodies Oversee infection control and wound care Lead department goal-setting and quality improvement initiatives Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or Bachelor of Nursing from an accredited school Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse (RN) Standard First Aid & CPR certification Minimum 3 years of clinical experience At least 2 years of management experience Experience in teaching or facilitating adult education Experience in continuing care (preferred) Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Wound Management and/or Infection Control (an asset) Benefits Dental Insurance Pension plan Life Insurance On-site parking Paid time off #J-18808-Ljbffr
