Job Synopsis The Accounting & Data Assistant joins the MCC Manitoba Finance team to competently carry out the foundational work of stewarding our financial resources, as well as supports the Migration and Resettlement team with database support for both the Private Sponsorships of Refugees (PSR) and BVOR programs. With a keen eye for detail, sharp database skills, and a beautiful spreadsheet or two, the Accounting & Data Assistant makes sure that expenses are paid, bills are sent, accurate records are maintained, and policies are followed. Working Conditions How much you work: this is a full-time salaried position, working 37.5 hours per week. Where you work: this position is located at MCCM office in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This is primarily an in-office role, with potential for occasional work from home flexibility. Physical conditions & requirements: this position will require significant computer time. Ability to focus for extended periods of time with high attention to detail and accuracy is required. Pace of work: this position works independently with high day-to-day variation, including receiving and responding to unanticipated requests from leadership and other colleagues, and is expected to manage multiple deadlines and seasons of high intensity workflow. Key Responsibilities FINANCE (60%) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/RECEIVABLE Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims, ensuring expenses are properly coded and authorized Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including cheques and EFTs Process sales invoices and cash receipts Ensure accurate and timely filing of payables and receivables documentation Monitor accounts and relate with various vendors, customers, and donors, as required Reconcile vendor invoices to statements GENERAL FINANCE Assist with general ledger account reconciliations Assist with tracking and reconciliation of refugee sponsorship project funding Reconcile Caf sales reports to bank deposits Provide coverage for team members, including making bank deposits, preparing donation batch entries, processing monthly donations, updating donor information, printing receipts Provide administrative support to the Finance team Assist with fiscal year-end preparation, as required Participate in continuous learning and professional development Other tasks and special projects in the department as time permits CORE SUPPORT Support/Assist team and colleagues in other tasks as required Demonstrate active participation in team meetings, including devotions/reflections, prayers, group learning, inter-cultural competencies MIGRATION & RESETTLEMENT DATA ASSISTANT (40%) DATABASE & FILE MANAGEMENT Maintain and update sponsorship files in the Apricot database, including embassy requests, additional documentation requests, refusals, biometrics, interviews, medicals, and other processing milestones Upload and organize documentation for new and active files Create and update individual profiles with complete details for all sponsored family members and constituent group members associated with the file Ensure files are complete, consistently labeled, and accurately reflect current status Generate basic reports from Apricot for staff use NEW SPONSORSHIP APPLICATION SUPPORT Support intake periods by uploading application documents into Apricot, ensuring required forms are present and properly attached, and flagging missing or incomplete documentation for program staff review GENERAL PROGRAM SUPPORT Maintain internal tracking sheet for sponsorship status Assist with scheduling and preparing basic materials for sponsor meetings Assist with orientation registration and attendance tracking Assist with maintaining up-to-date email templates and form checklists Support standardization of file naming and document storage Start Date 16 Mar, 2026 Salary Details Employer paid health, dental & vision, AD&D, Life.
