McCain Foods is recruiting a Manager, Global Social Media & Communications to lead always-on global storytelling that strengthens McCains reputation, reinforces our leadership in agriculture and potatoes, and helps people choose McCain when they have a choice. Based in Toronto, this role sits within the External Affairs & Sustainability team and plays a critical role in shaping how McCain shows up externallyacross global social platforms, earned media, and broader corporate communications, including our global website. This role blends hands-on social media storytelling with strategic external communications. It requires cultural fluency, strong judgment, and the ability to navigate complex internal stakeholder environments while maintaining professionalism, consistency, and a strong editorial voice. What you''ll be doing Global Social Media & Storytelling Lead ideation, strategy, and execution for McCains global social media channels and corporate website, delivering rich, behind-the-scenes storytelling that highlights McCains people, farmers, innovation, and leadership across agriculture, operations, and food systems Drive an always-on content engine that elevates McCains reputation and reinforces our leadership in potatoes and agriculture Identify and mine stories across the organization by partnering closely with sustainability, agriculture, commercial, marketing, HR, internal communications, and regional teamstranslating complex initiatives into compelling, culturally relevant content Maintain a strong understanding of cultural and social trends, thoughtfully leveraging relevant moments while ensuring all content reflects McCains values and professional standards Manage a global content calendar that balances proactive storytelling, timely moments, and strategic priorities across regions Partner with regional communications leads to ensure global stories resonate locally while remaining aligned to enterprise narratives Make strategic recommendations on paid social amplification to scale high-performing content and priority narratives Lead timely and coordinated updates to McCains corporate website during key announcements Curate and produce high-quality written and visual content using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other digital platforms Analyze social media performance and sentiment, translating quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations that inform strategy and decision-making Monitor social and media sentiment to identify emerging issues, reputational risks, and engagement opportunities Partner with global and regional social media counterparts to align plans, share best practices, and ensure cohesive execution across markets External Corporate Communications Support McCains corporate reputation through consistent, high-quality external storytelling aligned to leadership priorities, sustainability commitments, and business strategy Contribute to earned media strategy by identifying story opportunities, shaping angles, and working with agency partners to elevate McCains presence across priority outlets Support customer-specific communications as needed, ensuring alignment with broader corporate and reputation narratives Assist in crisis and issues communications by developing clear, credible external messaging that protects and strengthens McCains reputation Lead and manage agency partners, ensuring strategic focus, strong execution, and alignment with McCains voice and standards Contribute to executive and leadership content across social platforms, thought leadership, speeches, talking points, and external remarks, ensuring alignment with McCains corporate narrative What you''ll need to be successful Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format across platforms and audiences Cultural fluency and sound judgment when navigating trends, moments, and reputational risk Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and multi-layered approval processes A collaborative, proactive mindset with confidence to advocate for strong storytelling outcomes High organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment About McCain.
