DESIGN ENGINEER STUDENT - WINNIPEG, MB Work Term: 4-Month Term (MayAugust), with Possible Extension Work Arrangement: Full-Time, Onsite/Hybrid (1 day per week remote) Hours: 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Compensation: Paid position Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is North Americas public and private market motor coach leader, offering the all-time best-selling luxury motor coaches and workhorse commuter coaches, and brand new zero-emission luxury, high- and low-floor commuter coaches, designed on MCI''s J Series and D Series platforms. POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented engineering students specializing in mechanical and electrical engineering to join our team. As a Design Engineer Student, you will support the design and testing of innovative bus and motor coach components and systems. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, engineering calculations, preparation of drawings, testing support, and process documentation. Inclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members. WHAT YOU WILL DO Use CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) to develop and refine designs. Assist in creating and releasing engineering drawings and documentation. Conduct engineering calculations and research to support design decisions. Prepare for and support testing activities, including data collection and analysis. Collaborate with the team to improve processes and drive innovation. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL Enrolled in a recognized mechanical engineering program. Eligible to work in Canada and available to meet the required work schedule and work arrangement for the duration of the term. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Previous experience in mechanical design through SAE involvement or work placements is preferred. Hands-on experience, project management skills, and manufacturing knowledge are assets. OUR WHY We exist to move people.
