This is a fully in-office, hands-on role within a dynamic manufacturing environment where you will have the opportunity to develop broad HR expertise while contributing directly to the success of the business and our employees. Occasional travel to sites within the business unit is required. Scope of Role Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist collaborates closely with plant leadership, the Canadian HR team and HR COEs to develop and drive strategic and operational human resources programs and initiatives. Responsibilities include employee relations, workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching and development, compliance, conflict management, administrative support, project management and ad hoc initiatives. This role will support onboarding and offboarding, serve as the HR systems and process owner and provide day-to-day HR support to employees and leaders, in partnership with the broader Human Resources team. Occasional travel to sites within the business unit is required. Key Objectives and Responsibilities Employee Relations Partner with designated client groups within manufacturing operations and supply chain Provide day-to-day HR support and services to leaders and employees, ensuring responsive, consistent and reliable HR guidance Walk the shop floor daily to build relationships, monitor engagement and ensure HR support is accessible to all plant staff Participate in and/or lead employee relations investigations in partnership with the HR Manager Collaborate with leaders in delivering and tracking counseling and disciplinary actions to ensure fairness and adherence to policies and legislation Support and participate in action planning to improve engagement and retention Act as the Program Lead for the Connecting Communities Committee and plan events with local organizations Benefits Administration and Leave Management Administer the benefits program, enrollments, eligibility tracking and claim issue resolution Act as first point of contact for leaves of absence and facilitate return-to-work plans Liaise with insurance providers on disability leave eligibility and claims Drive efficiency by streamlining benefits administration and moving to electronic management Payroll and HRIS Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate biweekly processing Own and process HRIS transactions; troubleshoot and drive process improvements Use reporting and dashboards to analyze workforce data and support planning Maintain HR and personnel records in compliance with policies and law Recruitment and Onboarding Support high-volume hourly recruitment during peak seasons Collaborate with plant leadership and talent acquisition on manpower needs Deliver new hire orientation to ensure a welcoming induction experience Own the internship program in partnership with local universities Support internal career progression and promote from within Training and Development Drive the annual compliance training program and track completion Assist with leadership development workshops Identify training needs and support succession planning Qualifications Bachelors degree or Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management CHRP designation preferred or in progress 1 to 3 years of HR experience; manufacturing experience preferred HRIS/payroll exposure; Dayforce knowledge is a strong asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building and judgment Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment Normal hours MondayFriday, with biweekly schedule flexibility for night shift support Salary range: $55,000 - 70,000 This position is an existing vacancy.
