Job Description

Overview The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving mechanical systems and components in according with project specifications and company standards. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept through to implementation. This role works cross-functionally with operations, maintenance and quality teams. Job Details Job ID: TORME2026 Schedule: Monday to Friday shift from 8:00am to 5:00pm Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: $90,000 - $100,000, based on experience Workplace address: 9501 Highway #50 Vaughan, Ontario (Hwy #50/Major MacKenzie) To apply: Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software (AutoCAD) Conduct analyses to ensure that designs meet performance, safety, reliability, and delivered on time requirements from the operations Collaborate with electrical, manufacturing, dealer, others engineering (in-outside of GLS group) and teams to integrate mechanical systems and ensure seamless functionality Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, reports and manuals Analyze date and perform calculations to support design decision and validate designs. Conduct prototype testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues during the development process. Implement engineering changes based on analysis of feedback and performance metrics Participate in project planning and scheduling, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget Support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, procedure and quality standards Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and regulation relevant to mechanical engineering Recommend new equipment for sorting to improve operational efficiency Work closely with the project management team, including planning, execution and results tracking Recommend improvement and incorporate necessary changes into conveyor system or sorter system and the design Develop maintenance standards program for GLS equipments Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transportation Management or related field Minimum 13 years of experience in Mechanical engineering - ideally within the transportation, logistics, or distribution industry Proficiency in CAD software Understanding of transportation operations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of materials and industry standards Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information effectively Ability to work independently and in team environment Benefits Eligibility to our 3-tier medical and dental insurance programs RRSP Annual increase Employee Assistance Program Referral Bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr
