YOUR OPPORTUNITY Reporting directly to the Dean, the Chief Administrative Officer is entrusted as the principal administrative leader, providing vision, strategic direction and financial management for our Faculty in support of its academic mission. You will oversee and strengthen our administrative operations, driving excellence and efficiency across finance, information technology, space planning and capital projects, facilities management, risk management and academic human resources service delivery. Drawing on a proven record of leadership in dynamic financial environments with inherent uncertainty, you will exercise strong fiscal discipline and strategic judgment to optimize resources, manage costs, and build organizational resilience in support of longterm goals. Fostering a culture of collaboration and compliance, you will serve as a crucial link between diverse organizational functions across the University, our hospital partners, task forces and working groups. You will be adept at navigating highly complex, decentralized institutions where success is achieved through relationship and influence management. Your proven expertise in leading interdisciplinary teams with an innovative, continuous improvementoriented mindset will enable us to capitalize on opportunities that enhance our facultys financial sustainability, while advancing our academic priorities and the impact of our teaching and research goals. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Graduate degree in business administration and professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA), or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 15 years experience functioning as a senior administrator in a complex decentralized public sector organization, preferably a university or a teaching hospital Demonstrated track record as a strategic business leader in finance and operational management in an organization of similar scale and complexity, overseeing complex budgets, forecasting across multiple funding sources and managing large and diverse administrative units Proven expertise in leading the development of short and longterm financial strategies that align with organizational priorities and objectives, and respond to evolving financial conditions Demonstrated experience leading large scale capital redevelopment projects for academic and research purposes, space and technology Experience leading, mentoring and supporting the professional development of senior staff Proven experience collaborating across teams and influencing partners at all levels of an organization to achieve shared goals Demonstrated executive commitment to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organizational culture Must be an articulate and effective communicator, both verbal and written Exceptional conflict management and negotiation skills Must possess excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels with proven ability to exhibit tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations Ability to maintain a broad perspective, and the ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with all levels of faculty, staff, learners, senior administrators and external partners Ability to serve as an advisor to leadership, administrative, and academic units Closing Date: 01/23/2026,11:59PM ET Employee Group: Salaried Personnel Subarea: PM Appointment Type: BudgetContinuing Schedule: FullTime Pay Scale Group&HiringZone: PM10HiringZone:$215,260$251,137BroadbandSalaryRange:$215,260$358,767(Open) Job Category: Administrative/Managerial Diversity Statement The University of Toronto embraces Diversity and is building a culture of belonging that increases our capacity to effectively address and serve the interests of our global community.
