Job Description The Division of Neurology at William Osler Health System is seeking an Associate Neurologist to join the Neurology team at either Brampton Civic Hospital or Etobicoke General Hospital to provide neurological care of admitted patients. The position is a blended hospital and community practice and offers the possibility of working within a wellstaffed, hospitalbased electrodiagnostic clinic, and growing stroke prevention clinic. Accountabilities Provide general neurology service at least one day per week at Osler Participate in the oncall schedule (approximately one week in four and eight weekend per year) Neurologists who have the qualifications may also have opportunities for EMG at either Brampton Civic Hospital or Etobicoke General Hospital and to interpret a proportion of the hospitals EEG studies The neurologist will need to establish his/her own outpatient practice in the community About The Program William Osler Health Systems offers one of the busiest EMG clinics in the GTA. Our clinics are staffed by technologists using uptodate electrodiagnostic equipment. Dictations systems allow for realtimeediting and instantaneous release of notes. EEG readings can be performed in hospital or at home. Our monthly Neurology Rounds and NeuroRadiology case rounds provide excellent neurology CME and will remind candidates exactly why neurology is the most fascinating field of medicine. Qualifications Accredited Medical Degree (or equivalent) Certificate of Registration to practice from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario and have certification in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada Certification by Canadian Federation of Clinical Neurophysiologists is required in order to work in the electrodiagnostic clinics License to practice and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Sound critical thinking and problem solving skills Proven track record of attendance, punctuality, and accountability Models behaviour that aligns with Oslers Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration Expertise in clinical teaching or clinical research preferred for those interested in education or research Additional Information Osler is a primary clinical partner for Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine and is an academic community partner with the University of Torontos Temerty Faculty of Medicine and McMasters Michael G.
