Responsibilities Develops, monitors, and optimizes collection strategies, tools and capabilities to mitigate risk of losses. Designs and implements controls and predelinquency strategies to drive repayment while optimizing the customer experience. Identifies customer segments by risk level to ensure appropriate resourcing and targeted preDQ and collections offers. Defines business requirements for new/updated Collections models and collaborates with Modeling during development. Develops new offers and refines existing offers, detailing offer types and permutations by customer segment. Seeks 2nd line oversight, review and effective challenge of collections strategies and plans. Defines a framework for proactive/sequenced collections management and next best offer presentation and develops a ''placemat'' strategy to ensure an effective collections process. Designs and executes A/B testing to identify collection scenario performance difference and inform strategies, processes and offers. Monitors strategy results vs. expectations, making continuous realtime adjustments if under/over performance observed. Predicts changes to capacity & tooling requirements based on portfolio shifts and communicates changes proactively to Collections Operations. Incorporates Collections inputs elsewhere in the credit ecosystem, such as feedback loops to future strategy and integration of learnings into Acquisitions, PM, FPF strategies. Provides Collections governance and controls reporting and presents information and insights in risk committees/leadership forums. Provides analytical and process redesign support to remediation of Collections operational and performance issues. Adjusts strategies to support remediation issues and address root cause assessment, as needed. Defines recoveries portfolio strategy including mix / allocation to inhouse recoveries, 3rdparty agencies, debt sales, and legal action options. Optimizes debt inventory levels based on macro factors. Creates business case, author request, and drives the process for investment decision making. Promotes and supports the Banks risk culture, ensuring employees understand their accountabilities for risktaking activities. Complies with the Banks Risk Appetite framework and regulatory requirements. Rolemodels driving simplicity and productivity enhancements and continuous improvement. Qualifications Postsecondary education or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in collections. Strong collection and analytical skills to assess risk in strategy development. Understanding of modelling, advanced analytics, and data analytics. Strong quantitative/analytical skills. Advanced knowledge of collection and processes. Thorough knowledge of the Bank Lending Process training tools and qualification process. Indepth knowledge of collections management, processes, and reporting techniques. Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian regulations relating to collections. Ability to influence others in terms of collection strategy and direction. Ability to network and establish industry relationships. Salary Base salary range: CDN $170,000.00 to CDN $185,000.00. Salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Pay type: Salaried. The role may include a commission structure and performancebased incentives.
