Director, Wholesale Financial Control RBC Dominion Securities Overview The Director, Wholesale Financial Control is a key leader responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals focused on providing critical governance and control functions over the financial results of the Capital Markets business segment, specifically those operating within RBC Dominion Securities (DS). This role also leads crossfunctional initiatives to improve the accounting processes and systems for the DS legal entity. Responsibilities Serve as the finance quarterback, orchestrating accounting and control activities to enable frontoffice transactions. Build and maintain relationships with business and key stakeholders (e.g., Product Control, Performance Management, IT, Risk Management, Accounting Policy, Tax, Capital Finance partners), becoming the first point of call for financerelated issues. Understand business results and drivers for accounting variances, providing valueadded advice as the business transforms. Act as subjectmatter expert for finance flows and accounting issues; keep the team current on new accounting developments. Establish the control and governance framework over financial reports of each business area; ensure flawless execution of close processes, including review of financial and regulatory submissions. Oversee financial and regulatory reporting for all supported business lines, ensuring timely production of accurate results and disclosures. Ensure new products and transactions are appropriately captured in RBC financial reporting systems and that accounting methodologies are applied. Manage the global attestation review program and enforce adherence to policies and procedures across stakeholders. Lead crossfunctional initiatives to improve accounting infrastructure and controls, representing Finance on platform/global IT projects. Collaborate with other CM Finance functions to optimise processes and controls; empower the team to innovate, automate manual processes, and enhance data strategies. Lead a small team, coaching, providing clear direction and expectations, and fostering development aligned with RBC''s vision and leadership model. Qualifications Must Have CPA designation or equivalent, with 810 years of experience. Strong knowledge of financial and regulatory accounting standards. Peoplemanagement experience with strong leadership and teambuilding skills. Ability to take ownership, motivate, and collaborate with individuals across functional groups to drive resolution. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to senior management. Curiosity to explore improvements to the status quo. Exposure to Capital Markets businesses. Nice to Have Experience with financial IT systems and associated procedures, ideally those used by brokerdealer entities.
