Neshama Hospice is seeking a visionary physician-leader to serve as our Inaugural Medical Director as we prepare to open Canada''s first hospice residence built on Jewish values, open to all. Currently under construction in North York and on track to open in late 2026, Neshama Hospice will welcome approximately 250 residents and families annually into a home-like environment where dignity, individualized care, and holistic support define every moment. You will work closely with the Director of Residential Care to create clinical excellence with an interdisciplinary team. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will: Attract, retain and mentor a team of physicians dedicated to person-centered palliative care Establish and ensure 24/7 medical coverage while fostering a collaborative, supportive environment Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality committees, and accreditation readiness Advance and contribute to research, education, and sector leadership This is an inaugural role a chance to leave a legacy that will influence thousands of lives and redefine approaches end-of-life care. Who You Are A legally qualified medical practitioner licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario with: Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada with a certificate of competence in Palliative Care or equivalent, or Fellowship in Palliative Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
