The clinic is established, well-positioned in its market, and represents a compelling opportunity for a medical leader who wants to be involved in shaping the future of a growing aesthetic practice. The clinic is intentionally entering its next phase of growth, operational refinement, and clinical sophistication. We are seeking a Medical Director who is also interested in becoming an equity partner in the business. This role is designed for a clinician who wants to influence not only clinical standards, but also how the clinic grows, operates, and sustains excellence over the long term. The Role This role combines medical directorship, strategic leadership, and equity participation. The Medical Director will serve as the senior clinical authority within the clinic while working closely with ownership and operational leadership to shape the clinics direction, structure, and performance. This is not a symbolic or passive appointment. In practical terms, this role includes: Acting as the clinics senior medical decision-maker. Participating in strategic discussions related to growth, capacity, and service mix. Providing leadership that connects clinical quality with sustainable operations. Clinical Leadership and Governance The Medical Director is responsible for establishing and protecting the clinical foundation of the practice. This role ensures that standards of care are clear, defensible, and consistently applied across all providers. Key areas of responsibility include: Setting and maintaining clinical protocols, policies, and standards of care. Ensuring compliance with CPSA requirements and applicable Alberta regulations. Providing oversight of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, injectors, and other regulated health professionals practicing under the clinics medical model. Serving as the escalation point for complex cases, complications, and clinical judgment decisions. Overseeing informed consent processes, clinical documentation standards, and patient communication from a medical perspective. Growth, Operations, and Strategic Involvement As an equity partner, the Medical Director will play an active role in shaping how the clinic grows and operates. This involvement is central to the opportunity and is intended to align clinical leadership with long-term business success. This involvement includes: Contributing medical input into growth strategy, service expansion, and patient demand planning. Advising on staffing models, including physician and nurse practitioner coverage, nurse utilization, and delegation structures. Supporting decisions related to new treatment offerings, technology adoption, and clinical innovation. Collaborating with management on capacity planning, workflow design, and patient experience improvements. Ensuring growth initiatives align with clinical quality, safety, and practitioner sustainability. Day-to-day administration remains with the operational team, while the Medical Director meaningfully influences the clinics evolution. Physician and Clinician Leadership and Culture A core component of the role is clinical leadership and cultural stewardship. The Medical Director helps define expectations for professionalism, accountability, and clinical excellence across the medical team. This includes: Providing mentorship and guidance to physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical staff. Supporting onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development. Establishing clear clinical expectations and performance standards. Participating in recruitment and evaluation of clinicians to ensure alignment with clinic values. Promoting a collaborative, patient-centred clinical culture. Risk Management and Regulatory Stewardship The Medical Director plays a central role in ensuring the clinic remains well-governed, compliant, and prepared for regulatory scrutiny. Responsibilities include: Ensuring all clinicians are appropriately licensed, credentialed, and practicing within scope. Overseeing clinical risk management, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as the primary medical lead in the event of patient complaints, adverse outcomes, or regulatory inquiries. Supporting defensible clinical decision-making and documentation practices. Have experience or a strong interest in aesthetic medicine or closely related clinical practice. Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and leadership maturity.
