Ophthalmologist/Glaucoma Practice (Locum) Vacancy #: 2024-25-270391 Number of Vacancies: 1 Vacancy Opening For: Specialist Employment Type: Temporary Employment Term: Locum Posting Date: January 23, 2026 Closing Date: March 19, 2026 0:00 Job Description Why this practice Fully equipped clinic: HVF, FDT, OCT with Forum (glaucoma workplace), Clarus fundus photography, IOLMaster 700, OPD, and onsite SLT/YAG Streamlined patient flow: Dedicated surgical counsellors for cataract & glaucoma; assistant/scribe support for documentation Hospital access: One dedicated hospital day/week with inlane laser for LSL and access to 5FU Collegial team: Two additional ophthalmologists (medical glaucoma & comprehensive) and strong perioperative support Surgical scope (as applicable to candidate) Cataract surgery and MIGS (iStent infinite, iStent inject W, XEN, Preserflo, KDB) Trabeculectomy, Ahmed and ClearPath shunts Reliable access to corneal patch grafts and modern glaucoma devices Minimum commitment: 2 months (flexible start) Workload: Busy practice with the ability to tailor clinic and OR volumes to your preferred workflow Pathway to more: Option to begin with a shared workflow rampup, then transition to independent coverage for the duration you choose Future in Saskatoon: Separate opportunity exists as the city is recruiting a permanent surgical glaucoma specialist Job Qualifications Qualifications RCPSC certification (or eligibility) in Ophthalmology Registration/licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) and an active Saskatchewan medical license Demonstrated experience in glaucoma care; fellowship training preferred Additional Information How to express interest Email with your CV and availability.
