Overview Location: Powell River, BC Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible hours) Compensation: $350,000-500,000 annually based on experience About Us Sunshine Coast Health Centre (SCHC) and Georgia Strait Women''s Clinic (GSWC) are ever-growing programs currently with 34 inpatient beds for men and 10 for women receiving treatment for addictions, mental health, and trauma. Our long-time psychiatrist is retiring in 2026 and we are looking for his successor. Position Overview We are seeking a Part-Time Psychiatrist to join our medical team. The psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for clients in our mental health and addiction programs. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a collegial, well-supported setting. There is also an opportunity for this role to be partially remote. Applicants are not required to reside in the qathet Regional District, but must be willing to travel and perform in-person care on a bi-weekly basis. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations Provide medication management for mental health and substance use disorders Collaborate with therapists, case managers, nurses, and other clinicians on individualized treatment plans Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Ensure care is delivered in compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements Qualifications MD with completed residency training in Psychiatry Eligible for or holding Fellowship in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) Eligible for or fully licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) , with eligibility for independent practice Demonstrated expertise in treating concurrent mental health and substance use disorders Clinical experience in residential/inpatient or structured treatment settings , preferably in mental health and addiction care (an asset) Comfortable providing psychiatric care within a 24-hour residential program Experience working within multidisciplinary teams , including nursing, counselling, and allied health professionals Strong clinical documentation skills and understanding of regulatory, accreditation, and risk management standards Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed, and patient-centred care What We Offer Flexible part-time schedule Competitive compensation Administrative and clinical support Collegial, mission-driven work environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in mental health and addiction treatment How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to submit a CV and brief cover letter to for more information. #J-18808-Ljbffr
