As a Director, Performance, you will be reporting to MD, Performance and be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the performance measurement, benchmarking, and attribution activities for the total fund and for continuing to advance the analytical capability of the Performance function within CPP Investments. You will help set the strategic direction of the team including implementing scalable processes and systems and ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. The Performance team is responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate, and insightful performance measurement, attribution, and benchmarking for the Total Fund and its underlying portfolios. This role leads a team that owns critical performance platforms and in partnership with Technology & Data (T&D), evolves the technology and data solutions to modernize workflows, strengthen data governance and scale Performance functions analytical and reporting capabilities. Responsibilities Lead performance-related technology change initiativesincluding requirement gathering, design validation, UAT, change management, and post-implementation adoption. Support product owner of performance technology platforms (e.g., PACE, SCD Performance), including the development and prioritization of product roadmaps, to ensure performance systems meet evolving business and analytical needs. Drive automation, scalability, and workflow optimization across performance processes through modern tooling and partnership with Technology & Data teams to implement solutions that enhance analytics, reporting, and operational resilience. Evolve the roadmap for performance data products, ensuring data quality, lineage, controls, and alignment with enterprise data governance standards. Identify, assess, and implement solutions to improve data quality and accelerate insight generation, while ensuring appropriate controls, testing, and compliance with CPP Investments standards. Attract and develop a high performing team with strong analytical and business capabilities, enabling the effective use of performance tools and data to support decision-making. Qualifications Undergraduate degree or graduate degree in related field. 10+ years of relevant experience. Relevant professional designation (CFA, CIPM, FRM, CPA, etc). Advanced proficiency in performance measurement and attribution methodologies, including emerging industry trends and academic research nice-to-have. Advanced knowledge of Python with a focus on analytical packages (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) an asset. Advanced Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.) an asset.
