Title: Legislative Intern Posting Number: LEGIS-2026-9i Closing Date: March 2, 2026 Start Date: June 1, 2026 End Date: August 21, 2026 Existing Vacancies: 2 Location: 401 East State Street, Trenton NJ 08625 Internship Hours Per Week: up to 35hours per week (5 days per week) Hourly Rate: Sliding Scale based on Education Level ($19-$24 Per Hour) Program: Office of Legislative Affairs Program Description: The Office of Legislative Affairs is responsible for aiding the Commissioner, Governor''s office, Federal office, and the Legislature through the dissemination of information, coordinating meetings, conducting site visits, organizing, and attending conferences and conducting research on issues related to DEP and legislative matters. The Office assists in the resolution of problems and concerns between legislative entities and the department. Project Description: The Legislative Intern will work closely with director and staff in the Office of Legislative Affairs on various projects, researching and tracking specific bills, recording issues in the legislative tracker, attending meetings and taking notes (virtually), drafting response for referrals, and other special projects in regard to legislative work assignments. Specific to the Position: Strong written communication skills and has experience researching and working on Legislative Bills. Preferred Area of Study: Seeking individuals enrolled at an accredited university/college studyingPolitical Science, Public Policy, Law, Pre-Law, or Environmental Sciences. License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver''s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
